'By the will of God' (in Armenian) Zabel and Hetoum I standing facing one another, each crowned with head facing and holding long cross with star on shaft between them. Rev. 'Hetoum King of the Armenians' (in Armenian) Crowned lion advancing right, head facing; behind, long cross. AC 332. CCA 866V. Beautifully toned. Some doubling and with a few nicks, otherwise, very fine.

From the collection of an Armenian businessman, acquired before 2021, ex Roma E-Auction 78, 17 December 2020, 2009 and previously privately acquired from Seaby in the 1950s-1960s (with original dealer’s and collector's ticket).
